To reduce the backlog of visa requests, Canada may explore removing qualifying requirements for thousands of people.
According to a policy letter cited by The Globe and Mail, Canada may be exploring dramatic measures to decrease its growing immigration backlog, including eliminating eligibility restrictions for nearly half a million visitor visas.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is poised to take “strong action” to dramatically reduce its backlog of visitor visa applications by February, according to a draught document dated in December.
